Obituary

Dennis Duncan died unexpectedly in his home on 11/29/2017 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 51.
Dennis is survived by his wife Ramona of Duncan, OK, son Daniel and his wife Ashley of Cape Coral, Florida, son Michael and his wife Ashley and their daughter Mavis Rose of Albany, Oregon, parents Dave and Nadine of San Juan Capistrano, CA, grandmother Francine Renzi of Mission Viejo, CA, brother Jordan, and his wife Tracey and their son Christopher of Irvine, CA, sister Wendy and her husband Scott, and their sons Harrison, Hayden, and Hudson of Laguna Niguel, CA.
Dennis was born February 23, 1966, in Glendale, CA to Dave and Nadine Duncan. He grew up in San Juan Capistrano, CA and attended Capistrano Valley High School. Dennis surrounded himself with friends and family and was an avid collector of model airplanes and cars.
Dennis worked with his father at Cox Hobbies in the 1980’s as a reprographics technician and Cad Draftsman in the early 1990’s. He began driving trucks in 1993, where he found his love for the open road. He proudly continued his career as a truck driver until his untimely death. Dennis saw many places across the country, and often shared his adventures with his family through phone calls and photos. He was a humble and hard worker who was proud to be a truck driver, earning numerous safety awards throughout his trucking career.
Dennis moved to Duncan, Oklahoma in 2003, and immediately felt it was someplace he belonged. While he was always at home with his family, in California, vacationing in Montana, or anywhere we would be, Dennis considered Duncan Oklahoma to be his home.
Dennis was always smiling, and happy to share a story with friends and complete strangers.
A funeral is scheduled for this Friday, December 8th, 2017, at 4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home - 3720 US 81 Duncan, OK. All those who knew Dennis are welcome to attend to remember and celebrate Dennis's life. The family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Stephens County Historic Museum 1402 W Beech Ave, Duncan, OK 73533, instead of flowers.
Online condolences may be made to the family at www.whittfh.com .

I am so saddened to hear of Dennis's untimely death. We worked together several years ago and Dennis was always a dependable, caring and helpful person. Dennis gave us a dog that we loved and cherished and he came to see her a few times over the years. He was a fine person whose life was far too short. My deepest sympathies.

Was devastated to hear of the passing of Dennis.  Dennis was a kind, considerate man with a wonderful laid back personality.  Dennis and Mona came out to visit us in Arizona (we had previously lived in Duncan) and I so wanted them to move out here, but clearly Duncan was his home and he loved living there with his precious wife Mona. We loved Dennis and thought very highly of him.

As to Mona (my dearest sweet friend).....Dennis was the love of her life which makes this so tough for me as I know how dearly she loved Dennis and will miss him.  Although the healing will take time....may the beautiful memories they shared throughout their life together help carry her through this.  God is with you.

We are never prepared to lose someone which is why everyday is so important to tell your loved ones you love them, as we never know what tomorrow will bring.

My heartfelt sympathies are extended to all family members affected by this loss.

All our love,
Debbie & Gary

My Dear Friend Dennis,

I can't begin to grasp that you are gone way before your time.  A true tragedy for a much loved man.  You were so fun and happy. You touched so many people with the greatest kindness.  I will always remember your big heart and relaxed laugh.  Going hunting with you before sun up when most kids would rather sleep in.  Asking you to dial in my 049 engine so my r/c car would be hauling ass on the back road.  You were a great friend and I'm sorry life was too busy for us to meet up this year.  Rest in peace brother.

Dennis I'll never forget, I was around 10years old, it was on my birthday, you told me since it was my day I would get to plan it and do whatever I wanted to do. I asked you to take us to Taco Bell and than to see the Hollywood sign. You took all the kids, including your boys and my brother and I and we had the most amazing day, singing with you in the car and I remember I was just so happy I would get to meet such a cool and wonderful cousin I'd never met before. You made this day so special and I will never forget this cute smile of yours. You will live in my memory forever, I mean it. Hugs from Morocco, I wish I could see you one last time ... My name is Jesus, I got to know Dennis just within the last year.  He would always come to the bank just to say hello and tell us about where he had just driven too.  Just moving to Duncan from Southern California we would talk about some of the locations we would visit and he would always have a story bout the locations. Or he would come up and talk about what he was cooking for the night. He was a genuinely kind hearted person and you can definitely see it when he smiled.  I know everyone who knew him at the bank will miss him.
