Barbara Elaine Baird

Barbara Elaine Baird, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away in Oklahoma City on December 13, 2017. She was born September 19, 1946 to Norman and Patsy Ruth (Johnson) Hall in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was adopted and raised by Edwin William Hilbers when he married her mother.

Family visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, from 5-7 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 20, at 1:00 P.M. at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Terry Schlein officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Barbara attended school in Henrietta, Texas. She married Guy Thompson Baird on October 27, 2001, in Wichita Falls. She was involved with Leadership Duncan, the local Christian ministries in Duncan by assisting at the local food bank and clothing distribution center. She was a designer/decorator and remodeled local homes. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Bunco was her favorite game to play with her friends. She also owned Eagle’s Nest Christian Book Store. 

Barbara is survived by her husband, Guy Baird; her children, Steven and wife Kathy Mills, Kevin Mills and Tobin and wife Kureen Baird; her grandchildren, Bryson Mills, Robert Mills, and Elissa Baird; her great grandson, Nicholas Mills; her sisters, Brenda and husband Kenneth Brackin, Rita and husband Clarence Foster, Mary Lou and husband Randy Hamilton, and Claudia and husband Dan Busby; and her mother-in-law, Donna Baird.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her adoptive father, Edwin Hilbers; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Mills.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Mills, Robert Mills, Jim Green, Keith Riddles, Rocky Dyer, and Darrell Brackin.

Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to the Westside Christian Church Building Fund.
