Billy Grimes Obituary
Billy Ray Grimes was born March 12, 1927, in Buffalo, Oklahoma, to Walter Raymond and Ethel Anne (Qualls) Grimes. He passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019, at the age of 92.
He attended school in Achille, Oklahoma, and then received his Doctorate from Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater. He married Kathryn Rochelle in Durant. They had two sons, Paul and Richard. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1946-1947. He was employed as a college professor at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. Billy was an avid fisherman. Most of all, he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; his son, Richard Owen Grimes; and his parents.
Billy is survived by his son, Paul and wife Charla Grimes of Duncan; grandsons, Randy and wife Lezlie Grimes and Alan and wife Brie Grimes, all of Ada; two great grandchildren, Jacob Grimes and Adelyn Grimes; and two sisters, JoSaille Carmichael of Wichita, Kansas and Sonja Czuwala of Dallas, Tex.
