Bonnie Pearl Gray passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, in Duncan at the age of 93. She was born on November 15, 1924, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, to Virgil and Myrtle Malone.
A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, at 2:00 PM in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Bonnie graduated from Verden High School in 1943. She lived in Chickasha during World War II, working in a clothing factory making Army uniforms. After the war she worked as a bookkeeper for Chickasha Lumber Company. In 1946, she married Jess Gray. To this union, four sons were born, Danny, Dennis, David, and Darrell. She worked for Haggar Slacks for 23 years. After the plant closed, she worked as a seamstress. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West and loved her church.
She loved visiting with people. She loved her family and was a terrific mom.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Jess; two sons, Danny Gray and Dennis Gray; her parents; five brothers including her twin brother, and two sisters.
Bonnie is survived by two sons, David and wife Rowena Gray of Duncan and Darrell and wife Robin Gray of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Mobley of California; many nieces and nephews; and many precious friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie’s name to the New Hope Baptist Church West senior activities fund.
