Funeral for Byrena Joy (Baxter) Culp-Igo will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church of Apache, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lori Fahle and Pastor Chris Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow at Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril. Arrangements are under the direction of Crews Funeral Home in Apache.
Byrena Joy Igo died Sunday, January 19, 2020, in Lawton at the age of 90. She was born May 3, 1929, southeast of Cement, to George S. and Pearl B. Baxter. She grew up in the Kechi Community and later lived and worked in the Cement and Cyril areas.
She worked as a clerk at Anderson Food Store in Cyril for many years, as well as the Cyril Drug Store, Cyril High School, and cooked for the Cyril Rotary Club. She loved to bake, sew and spent countless hours in her flower garden.
She married John Preston (JP) Culp in July 1945. There were 3 children from this marriage, Johnetta, Albert, and Linda.
In October 1978 she married R. E. Farmer. Later she married Robert (Bob) Igo in November 1996.
She is survived by her son, Albert and wife Susan Culp; daughter, Linda and husband Jim Johns; 7 grandchildren, Melissa and husband Jason Bridges, Lori Cook, Shawn Culp, Mark and wife Carrie Culp, Steven and wife Deanne Culp, Eric and wife Jennifer Johns, and Jennifer and husband Craig McIntyre; 22 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all 3 husbands; daughter, Johnetta; son-in-law, Vic; daughter-in-law, Terry; and 3 brothers, Floyd, Lloyd and Ovid Baxter.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stevan Culp, Shawn Culp, Eric Johns, Zach Johns, Craig McIntyre, and Jason Bridges.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or Apache Nutrition Center in Apache.
