Carmela Mackey Obituary
Carmela Geroloma Mackey, 77, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at her home in Duncan. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 23, 1940, to Francesco Salvatore and Angelina Cirnigliaro.
A family memorial service will be scheduled at a later time in New York. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Carmela graduated from Bushwick High School in Brooklyn. She married Joseph Mackey on February 20, 1960, in Brooklyn. They had one daughter, Donna. They later divorced.
She was employed as a bookkeeper for Culligan Pure Water for 20 years. She then worked at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens for 12 years. Her favorite hobby was cooking for her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Pitti; four grandchildren, Adoria and spouse Christopher Jean, Edward Pitti, Ariana and spouse Daniel Getz, and Joseph Schwartz; three great grandchildren, Angelina Jean, Logan Jean, and Eli Pitti; and one brother, Salvatore Cirnigliaro.
Carmela was preceded by her parents, and granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Pitti.
