Carolyn Arnold Obituary

Rexene "Carolyn" Arnold was born on April 29, 1942, in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Rex Roscoe and Marguerite Marie (Meeks) Freeman. She passed quietly into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was 77.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Waurika, with Pastor Adam Brinson officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Carolyn was a 1960 Waurika High School graduate. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Wendell Ray Arnold. They married in 1960 while Wendell was attending Cameron University. They then moved to Stillwater, where both attended Oklahoma State University. Carolyn studied photography and art. While Wendell was still attending OSU, she worked as the secretary for the OSU Dean of Admissions. She enjoyed playing competitive tennis and playing the piano. She also enjoyed painting and taking professional photographs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; her parents; and her sister, Marianne Sue Freeman.

Carolyn is survived by her three children: Lyndon David Arnold and wife Patrice of Marietta, Georgia, Douglas Ray Arnold and wife Kendyl of Loxahatchee, Florida, Susanna Lee Raffey and husband Dave, also of Loxahatchee; nine grandchildren: Aaron David Arnold and wife Ellen, Alexander Pope Arnold, Robert Austin Arnold, Margaret Grace Arnold, Brittney Christine Arnold, Jackson Ray Arnold, Christopher Lee Arnold, Amanda Michelle Raffey, David Michael Raffey; one brother, Rex Roscoe Freeman, Jr. of Duncan; and one sister, Jeanne Marie Criss of Yukon.

Memorial contributions can be made in Carolyn's name to the First United Methodist Church, 438 E. D Avenue, Waurika, OK 73573.
