Carrie Denae Bruce was born on March 31, 1982, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Flint Edward and Janada Lynn (Flippen) Jenkins. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday,
September 28, 2019.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, from 5-7:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 3, at 10:00 A.M. at New Hope Baptist Church West, with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Carrie was a 2001 Velma-Alma High School graduate. She married Michael Stephen Bruce on June 21, 2003, in Duncan. She was a member of the Velma Baptist Church.
She worked as a teller at the Velma branch of First National Bank & Trust. She enjoyed painting by diamonds. She loved the home that Michael provided for their family. She also loved attending her girls’ basketball and softball games. She, Michael, and the girls enjoyed a wonderful summer vacation in Florida this year.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters: Jayden Bruce, Kaylee Bruce; parents, Flint and Janada Jenkins; sister, Corri Polzien; brother, Clayton Jenkins; grandparents: Norma and Charley Jenkins, Shirley Canfield; mother-in-law, Ilene Bruce; sister-in-law, Sheila Bruce; nieces and nephews: Emily Bruce, Alec and wife Breanna Richardson, Jimmy Richardson, Brooklyn Polzien, Keeley Jenkins, Jeb Jenkins; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; former sister-in-law, Kelsey Jenkins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Adell Flippen; step grandmother, Pat Flippen; brother-in-law, Jeff Polzien; father-in-law, Ronnie Bruce; and grandfather-in-law, Charley Canfield.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Smith, Glenn Hurst, Jimmy Sullivan, Trey Palacol, Zac Pogue, and J.B. Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Velma-Alma Class of 2001 and First National Bank employees.
