Dema Bernice Leu was born on December 24, 1927, in Elgin, Oklahoma, to Ernest Everlyn and Will Maud (Cagle) Kitsmiller. She was greeted at Heaven’s gates by Jesus and her beloved husband “Pete” on Thursday, October 31, 2019. She was 91.
There is no visitation scheduled. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, November 4, at 1:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church West with her grandson, David Leu, officiating and Pastor Randy Southerland assisting. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Dema attended Sterling public schools. She married the love of her life, Albert Herman “Pete” Leu on February 21, 1948, in Rush Springs. To this union, two sons – Danny and Keith – were born. Pete preceded her in death on June 19, 2008.
She was an artistic baker, using her talent to make bridal cakes. Fishing was her favorite pastime. She loved singing in the church choir and did so until she was 90. She also taught Sunday School and was a faithful prayer warrior.
Dema is survived by her sons: Danny and wife Mary Sue Leu of Ardmore, Keith and wife Susan Leu of Comanche; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and brothers: Don and wife Shirley Kitsmiller, Ernest and wife Sharon Kitsmiller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; parents; grandson, Cory Leu; sister, Robbie; and brother, George.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ray Edmondson, Lance Clark, Mike Johnson, Codye Leu, Don Kitsmiller, Ernest Kitsmiller, Pete Mitro, and David Leu.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the New Hope Baptist Church West ministry.
