Donald was a 1963 graduate of Apache High. He loved all things automobile. From wash boy, mechanic, salesman, manager to owner. He did it all. And in fact, he may have had more happy customers than any other salesman in all of SW Oklahoma. He was also quite passionate about food, family, friends, and OU Football. He was revered by many, quite possibly never met an enemy, and will likely be most missed for his now famous “Happy Birthday” ditties!
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Billy Payne, David Payne, Glenn Payne; sister, Patricia Talley; and brother-in-law, Bill Talley.
Donald is survived by his children: Ashley Payne of Lawton, Benjamin and wife Andrea Payne of San Diego, California; grandchildren: Faith Payne, Allison Payne, Isaac Payne, Farrah Ford, Wynn Ford; brother, Leonard and wife Romaine Payne of Argyle, Texas; sister-in-law, Jane Payne; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Buttram, Dave Moore, Jim Williams, Micah Payne, Grant Wilkerson, and Toxie Williams.
