Donald Gene Perdue passed away on Friday, June 8, at the age of 82. He was born March 1, 1936, to Thomas Adalaska and Opal Marie (Briscoe) Perdue.
Family visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 10, 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 11, at 1:30 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Leonard Keele, minister of Chisholm Trail Church of Christ, officiating, assisted by Mike Peercy, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Don graduated from Duncan High School in 1954 and attended Oklahoma A&M, studying Architecture. He married Rachel Ann Robinson on June 3, 1955, in Duncan. They raised two children, Tanya and Rick Alan. Rachel preceded him in death in April.
He worked as a real estate appraiser and owned Perdue Appraisals. Don also served as a cook for the Army Reserves. He was an artist who enjoyed painting and inventing things in his shop. He was a member of the Duncan Art Guild and SCRAP Club. He participated in competitive shooting events. His favorite pastime was fishing with his grandsons.
Don is survived by his children, Tanya and husband Barry Duren of Duncan and Rick Alan and wife Stephanie Perdue of Austin, Texas; and grandsons, Tyler Randolph of Oklahoma City, Ross Duren of Norman, and Nicolas Paul Perdue of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel; his parents, and many aunts and uncles.
