Ewing Dwight Hood passed away on Monday, September 24, in Chickasha. He was born on December 31, 1942, in Watonga, Oklahoma, to Ewin and Beulah Hood.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 29, at 10:30 A.M. at the Family Life Center in Cyril with Pastor Donnie Miller officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cyril Funeral Home.
Ewing attended schools in Watonga and Avondale, Arizona. He married Jan Williams on February 9, 1963. They raised 2 children – Cindy and Coy Don. They later divorced.
He worked as a truck driver for many years. He attended the Family Life Center. He enjoyed watching Nascar racing and reading westerns. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Caden.
Ewing is survived by his children, Cindy Guzman and Coy Don and wife Cyndi, all of Elk City; grandchildren, Candace and husband Robert Rodgers and Caden Hood, all of Elk City; great grandchild, Reese Rodgers; sisters, Lucille Kirkendoll, Barbara Brown, Rhonda and husband Leo Stamm, Denise Wallace, and Roberta and husband Arnold Huitt of Watonga; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend and her family, Mary "Kate" Hicks of El Reno, children, Theresa and Carlos Triplett, Marieta and Charles Dresch, Erin and Rick Cheek, and grandchildren, Christopher Dresch, Katey Dresch, Tamara and Brodie Petsch, Matthew Dresch, Conner Dresch, Nora Cheek, Hallie Cheek, and Nate Cheek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewin and Beulah Hood; sisters, Leola Miller, Betty Kirkendoll, and Judy Lesperance; and brothers, Bill Hood, Bobby Hood, and Jerry Hood.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ewing’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the charity of your choice.
