Feliz (Rios) Torrez

Feliz Torrez was born August 14, 1934, in Floresville, Texas, to Bruno and Juanita (Marin) Rios. She passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at her home in Ryan, Oklahoma, at the age of 85.

A Rosary is scheduled for Monday, September 9, at 6:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Bro. Bruce Humphries officiating. Interment will be held at 12:30 P.M. at the Ryan Cemetery in Ryan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Feliz attended school in Grandview, Texas. She married Margarito Reyes Torrez on December 12, 1951, in Grandview. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2012.

She loved to cook and make tamales and even won a tamale-making championship. She worked at home raising nine children; her family consisted of many generations.

Feliz is survived by her children: Joe Torrez, Juanita Aldape, Margarito Torrez Jr., Maria Seay, Robert Torrez, Michael Torrez, Dolorez Vasquez, Jessica Torrez; 47 grandchildren; 97 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and brother, Joe Rios.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Juanita Rios; husband, Margarito Torrez Sr.; sons: Jesse Torrez, Frankie Torrez, Rick Torrez; grandchildren: Nina Torrez, Latisha Burden, Annette Aldape; great grandchild, Devin Torrez; great great grandchild, Aaylah Storniolo; brothers: Ben Rios, John Rios; and sisters: Joann Rios, Emila Carranza.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Torrez, Jessie Torrez, Michael Torrez, Anthony Torrez, Jason Tallon, Linder Seay, Robert DeWayne Torrez, Alex Torrez, and Julian Torrez.
