Gila Belle "Susie" Boatman passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the age of 77. She was born on April 9, 1941 in Marshall, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Norman and Freeda Lahoma Walker.
There are no services planned for Mrs. Boatman at this time.
She graduated from Ryan High School. She married Norval Leon Boatman on October 14, 1961, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had three children -- Darsha, Kevin and Scott. Leon preceded her in death on September 22, 2018.
She and Leon loved to travel to New Mexico to attend the balloon festivals and to visit the mountains, which was their favorite place to be. She also loved to read anything and everything.
Gila is survived by her children, Darsha and husband Jack Bishop, Kevin and wife Karen Boatman, and Scott Boatman, all of Duncan; grandchildren, Natosha Matheny, Tiffany and husband Jimmy Bowen, Drew Boatman and fiance, Shalyn Adams, Lindsey Olds, Jamin and wife Kaylee Bishop, Jared and wife Kaleigh Bishop, and Halie Gilchrist; great grandchildren, Tylon Hamm, Eli Matheny, Kaleb Matheny, Eason Bowen, Jentry Bowen, Brynlie Boatman, Paisley Boatman, and Heidi Justus; sister, Nilda and husband Mike Largent of Ryan; and special cousin, Sissie Fisher of Crescent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; and her parents.
