Harry L. Roberson, 87, on Friday, October 12, 2018, went to his heavenly home following a brief illness. He was at home surrounded by family and friends.
Harry (Blondie to many family and friends) is survived by his wife, Novellia Roberson; daughters, Teresa Roberson of Dallas and Debora Roberson and her husband Eric Butz of Allentown, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Kira Roberson; grandson Ian Roberson Butz; sister, Letriece Carleton; sister-in-law, Lura Bradley; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles (Ink) Franklin Roberson.
Harry was born to Dewey Erskin and Audra Mae Roberson in the farming community between Duncan and Lawton in 1931. He graduated from Central High School in 1950. In July 1951, he married his life partner, Novellia, at Hulen United Methodist Church. Upon completing a tour of duty with the U.S. Army, Harry joined BP Amoco in 1955. He and Novellia made their home in Duncan where they raised their daughters – participating in all their activities. He was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church and served in many capacities.
After retirement in 1986, Harry and Novellia were fortunate to do the things they loved: spending time with their family, singing in the choir, visiting all 50 states, taking the RV and boat on fishing adventures, traveling the world, growing the best tomatoes and vegetables, and attending a lot of baseball games.
Harry was the best of men: kind, loving, generous, considerate, responsible. Harry and Novellia were married for 67 years and he was devoted to his family and friends. And, he was loved by many.
