Jackie Lynn Williams

Jackie Lynn Williams passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019, in Duncan. He was born on March 4, 1966, in Duncan, to Walter Warner “Sonny” and Sylvia Ann (Cockrell) Williams. He was 53.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 2, from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 3, at 10:00 A.M. at Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in the Claud Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Jackie graduated in 1984 from Duncan High School. He attended college at Cameron University. He worked as a corrections officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the James Allred Unit for almost 20 years with the ranking of CO5. On June 1, 1990, he married Myrlene Lawson in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed working on cars, racing cars, and fishing. He was an avid OU football fan and enjoyed watching the OKC Thunder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Sylvia Williams; in-laws, Howard and Barbara Lawson; and cousin, Hoyt Ferguson.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 28 years, Myrlene; daughter, Lindsey Nicole Williams of Duncan; brother, Wade Williams of Duncan; brothers-in-law, Jon Lawson and husband Paul of Columbia, MO and Terry Lawson and wife Juanita of Edmond; sister-in-law, Natosha Jewks and husband Steve of Utah; aunts, Elaine and husband Roger White, Donna Cobb, Sue Cockrell, and Verna Pettigrew; nieces and nephews, Joshua Lawson, Megan Williams, Stephen Lawson, Josiah Lawson, and Logan Williams; and numerous cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wade Williams, Tommy Gardner, Sgt. Kevin Hunley, Clyde Little, CO5 Brian Sparks, and C05 Mike Pletts. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Huber, Sgt. Chris Young, LSM3 Marquis Eaden, Phil Upchurch, and William Frizzell.
