Jennifer Norton Obituary
Jennifer Lou Norton was born on January 7, 1950, in Madill, Oklahoma to David Crockett and Bess Louise (Glen) Ward. She passed away on Saturday, November 9th, 2019, with her husband and son by her side. She was 69.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, November 15, at 1:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Woods Sr. officiating, assisted by Herschel Beard. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Jennifer was a 1968 Madill Public Schools graduate. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education from East Central University and a Master's degree in Education from Oklahoma University. She married the love of her life, Joe Bob Norton, on March 20, 1971, in Madill.
She was a teacher who dedicated 32 years of her life to serving students across the state of Oklahoma. She taught in Frederick, Ponca City, Red Rock and Duncan. She retired in Duncan in 2007 after teaching at the Duncan Middle School, Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, and Lee
Elementary School where she taught remedial reading and computer science. After her retirement, she worked for 2 years in the Oklahoma Department of Probation and Parole and 2 years for the Chickasaw Indian Nation.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joe Bob; son, Mikel Norton; and grandson, Aidan Norton. She is also survived by her pets: Tutu (Rat Terrier), Sugar Foot (cat) and Chad (18-year-old Underwater African Frog).
She was preceded in death by her parents and her pets: Luke (horse), Neb (mule) and Tina (dog).
