Joe was born September 28, 1923, in rural Apache, to Orville McKnight and Frances Wesley Box.
He lived in and around Apache most of his life, where he graduated High School. Joe served in the Military during World War II.
He married Imogene Weber in 1946 in Apache.
He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Apache.
Joe Orville McKnight, 94, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Joe owned and ran the APCO Service Station in Apache for several years. Ranching, cattle and horses, were his greatest enjoyment, also visiting with friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene, of the home; one son, Charles McKnight, Apache; one daughter, Melanie Morris, Apache; two granddaughters, Lisa Austin and husband Chad, Apache, and Tara Sanchez and husband, B.J., Woodbridge, VA; one grandson, Austin Nunn and wife, Amanda, Norman, OK; one great-grandson, Damon Sanchez; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Nunn, and one sister, Lena Myers, Lawton, OK.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Kerry Glasgow, officiating.
