M. L. Stewart Jr. passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in Duncan. He was born on September 22, 1945, in Marlow, to M. L. “Sandy” and Hazel (Parks) Stewart. He was 73.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 29, from 5:30-7:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, May 30, at high noon at the Marlow Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
M. L. graduated in 1964 from Marlow High School. He worked in the oilfield his entire life, beginning with his father at A&P Drilling and then at Halliburton. In November, 1975, he married Marion Baldridge in Wichita Falls. He enjoyed going to the Daybreak Diner so he could visit with all of his friends. He loved playing Moon with his family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents, Sandy and Hazel Stewart; brother, Ronnie Stewart; and brother-in-law, Morris Wells.
M. L. is survived by his children, Brian and wife Elizabeth Stewart of Duncan and Candice Stewart of Ogden, Utah; grandson, Hunter Roberts of Duncan; brother, Terry and wife Reba Stewart of Pikeville, Tennessee; sisters, Gayle and husband Jim Selby of Duncan, June Wells of Broken Arrow, and Sandra and husband Dave Bishop, of Mustang; sister-in-law, Sue Stewart of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Bishop, Jeff Johnson, Hunter Roberts, Joe Stewart, Ronnie Stewart Jr., Terry Stewart, Vance Taff, and Rodney Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be his Daybreak Diner coffee-drinking buddies.
