Murldean “Granny” Gay was born July 22, 1934, to Monroe Lee and Audra Agnas (Collins) Faust in Satterwhite, Oklahoma. She passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, in Duncan at the age of 84.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 6, at 5:30-7:00 PM at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 7, at 10:30 AM at Parkview Baptist Church with her grandson, David Leu, officiating, assisted by Pastor Roger Bennett. Interment will follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Murldean graduated from Elmore City High School. She married Charles Wallace Gay in October 28, 1950, in Ardmore. Murldean was a member of Gleaners Home Extension Group and worked for the Stephens County Election Board. She was a long-time member of Parkview Baptist Church.
Sewing was her passion that evolved into being her job. Murldean enjoyed keeping her yard neat and was also interested in tracing her family genealogy. She was involved with her children's school PTA and loved keeping up with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Murldean is survived by her children, Charlie and wife Dianne Gay of Duncan and Mary Sue and husband Danny Leu of Ardmore; grandchildren, Lezlie and husband Derrick Hopkins of Noble, Brian and wife Dana Gay of Duncan, and David and wife Angela Leu of Ardmore; great grandchildren, Conner Hopkins, Carson Hopkins, Connor Gay, Evan Gay, Lincoln Gay, Cory M. Leu, Jason Leu, Brently Leu and Braxton Leu; and sister, Pearlene Caldwell of Purcell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gay; parents, Monroe and Audra Faust; grandson, Cory D. Leu; brothers, Bill Faust and Ed Faust; and sisters, Hattie Faust, Ruby Faust, and Annie Dill.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Leu, Brian Gay, Robert Rush, Robert Parkhill, Johnny Hall, and Derrick Hopkins.
