Venita Morgan Obituary

Venita Grace Morgan, of Marlow, was born November 1, 1932, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to William Carney and Grace Meda (Everhart) Womack. She passed away on Sunday, May 6, at the age of 85.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, at 2:00 P.M. at the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs with Pastor Paul Phipps officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Venita graduated from Con 8-Hobart High School. She owned “Flying V” Shadetree Trucking. She was also a singer/songwriter. She owned a ranch northeast of Marlow and ran commercial cattle on it. She enjoyed working in her yard. She loved staying up until all hours of the night drinking coffee with her sisters and watching westerns. She also loved being with her family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Venita is survived her children, Lanita and husband Curtis Brown of Rush Springs, Mike and wife Pam Battles of Bridge Creek, Dawn and L.W. Dennis of Velma, and Victor and wife Karie Morgan of Marlow; grandchildren, Laurie Anderson, Liberty and Chris Barrick, Michael Jr. and wife Kendra Battles, Amanda and husband Brent Oldham, Jennifer Clements, Crystal and husband Jimmy Smart, Jay Dennis, Laurean and husband Jesse Ellis, Jeremy Morgan, Ashley and husband Randy Keller, and Dillon and wife Leah Morgan; great grandchildren, William and wife Robin Funk, Johnny, Keith, and Jerricka Funk, Zerrick and Zavie Anderson, Junior, Brycen, and Josie Battles, Alli and Kaitlyn Marchand, Shelby and Ella Oldham, Nicholas, Major, and Tyler Brooks, Carson and Connor Clements, Dashiell and Palmer Smart, Stella and Sunny Dennis, Enlynn, Jaim, Jett, and Raeson Ellis, Kambrie and Trinity Keller, and Blaize Morgan; and one sister, Clara Hoelck of Shepherd, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Johnny Lee Morgan; granddaughter, Lynnsey Dawn Dennis; six brothers; and 4 sisters.
