A.D. "Dexter" Bloodworth Obituary

Andrew "Dexter" Bloodworth was born on June 8, 1935, in Pruitt City, Oklahoma to Charley Cleveland and Lillie Jane (Carpenter) Bloodworth. He completed his earthly journey on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at the age of 84.

Viewing will begin on Monday, March 30, at 12:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. There will be no family visitation.

A private family graveside service is scheduled at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Jim Duck, Wilson Pentecostal Church, officiating. He will be assisted by Pastor Todd Davison. Due to the current health crisis, a memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

A.D. graduated from Fox High School, where he played tennis. He also was the Fox Public Schools bus driver and mechanic while he attended school there. He married the love of his life, Annetta Yvonne Holmes, on March 11, 1955, in Pruitt City. To this union four daughters - Karen, Kathy, Karla, and Kristi - were born. He and Annetta recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

He worked for Mobil Oil as a lease operator "pumper" for 26 years, retiring in 1995. He and Annetta traveled all over the United States, in their travel trailer, to Bar Harbor, Maine where they worked and camped and also to Monarch and Salida, Colorado. He enjoyed quail hunting with the boys. He also enjoyed just tinkering with things. He loved his family dearly.

A.D. is survived by his loving wife, Annetta; daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Joe Henderson of Temple, Kathy and David Taylor of Duncan, Karla and Keith Pearson of Empire, Kristi and Gerald Ransford of Broken Arrow; grandchildren: Andrew and wife Megan Henderson, Jimmy Henderson, Heath and wife Ashtin Taylor, Haley and husband Hunter Culp, Ann and husband Jarrod Field, Matthew Pearson; great grandchildren: Sam Henderson, Jake Henderson, Wyatt Henderson, Graham Culp, Taylor Culp, Madden Field, Weston Field; sister-in-law, Lorena Butler; and his special kitty, "Rosie."

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Walton Bloodworth, Billy Joe Bloodworth; sisters: Bonnie Fletcher, Charlene Thompson; and infant granddaughter, Mary Heather Pearson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Henderson, Jimmy Henderson, Heath Taylor, Hunter Culp, Jarrod Field, and Matthew Pearson.
