Alma Jean (Marsh) Painter, 77, was born October 19, 1944 in Man, WV, the second of eight children born to James Thomas and Nellie Gay (Plumley) Marsh. She passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022, with her family at her side at her home in Duncan, OK.
The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, January 12, between 6:00-7:00PM at Whitt Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, January 13, at 10:00AM at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin with Ron Stough, minister at Eastside Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
She married Terry Alden Painter on May 25, 1963 in Beckley, WV. Alma and Terry had two sons, Terrence and Kenneth. Alma was an accomplished oil painter/artist who enjoyed most every medium of arts and crafts. She was known as an animal lover. Alma loved her family and, most of all, the Lord. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ and a World Bible School Teacher.
Alma is survived by her husband of 58 years, Terry; sons: Terrence, of Burkburnett, TX, and Kenneth and wife Betty of Henryetta, OK; three grandchildren; one great grandson; three brothers in WV; one brother in SC; and one sister in DE.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and one nephew.
