Ashley "Ash" Aaron Adams

Ashley "Ash" Aaron Adams, 48, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 31, 2026. He was born on November 24, 1977, in Oklahoma City to Larry Don Adams and Lynette Adams Gibson.

After graduating from Duncan High School in 1996, Ash continued his education at Rogers State University, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Central Oklahoma, where he earned his bachelor's degree. Throughout his life, he embraced a variety of careers, working as an independent contractor, paramedic, bartender, cook, and employee of the United States Postal Service. No matter the job, Ash approached it with dedication, a strong work ethic, and a genuine appreciation for the people he met along the way.

On November 17, 2020, Ash married the love of his life, Jason Anthony Castillo, in Cement, Oklahoma. Together they built a life filled with love, adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Ash had an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He loved rock climbing, hiking, camping, and exploring new places. Whether traveling across the country on a road trip, relaxing on a cruise, or quietly working a challenging jigsaw puzzle, he found joy in life's experiences. He was also passionate about cooking and took great pride in his kitchen. Ash was known for being very particular about his cookware, utensils, and the way everything was organized-so much so that family and friends knew his kitchen was off-limits. His attention to detail was only one of his many endearing qualities. He had a special place in his heart for rescue dogs and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family and friends, whose love and companionship meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Helen Deike, and his paternal grandparents, Don Adams and Martha King.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his husband, Jason Adams; his father, Larry Adams; his mother, Lynette Gibson and husband Bob; brothers: Taylor Jay Adams and wife Amanda, Garett Ross Adams and wife Chelse; sister, Tana Shanae Adams-Martin; grandfather, Cliff King; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 9, at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 10, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue following the service until 7:00 P.M. Interment is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 11, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers are Laura Willis, Caleb Deike, Talyn Adams, Ean Adams, Monty Howell, and Rudi Recktenwald.

In honor of Ash's free spirit and the way he lived life, the family kindly asks those attending the service to wear casual clothing rather than traditional funeral attire. Please come dressed comfortably, just as Ash would have wanted.
