Barbara Stinson, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born on August 15, 1956 in Nagel-Kreis-Wunsidell, Germany to Stanlaus and Anna (Franz) Lesiewicz. She passed away on Wednesday, April 18, at the age of 61.
A funeral service for Barbara is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, at 11:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Stough officiating. Interment will be in Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington, Kansas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan, and Frank Funeral Home in Wellington.
Barbara attended school in Germany. She married Gary L. Stinson on February 17, 1978, in Lawton. They raised two children, David and Connie, and lived in many place throughout the United States where Gary would be stationed. Barbara was a homemaker and loved to decorate her home. Being from Germany, she collected German beer steins and she also fell in love with Native American artifacts while living in New Mexico. Barbara enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish at their cabin in Colorado and on Florida lakes. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in St. Cloud, Florida.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary; her children, David Parsons of Duncan, and Connie Dea Stinson-Brazil of Dallas, Texas; her mother, Anna Franz Lesiewicz; her brothers, Hans Lesiewicz, Bernd Lesiewicz, and Gerhard Lesiewicz; and her sister, Olga Lesiewicz.
She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to the Duncan Masonic Lodge #60.
