Barnett "Leo" Sears Obituary

Barnett "Leo" Sears, 73, of Comanche, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025. Born on March 19, 1952, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Leo was the son of Barnett Sears and Vallie Mae (Camp) Cecil.

Leo spent his life working with his hands as a skilled welder and a man who could fix just about anything. He had a deep love for the outdoors-whether he was fishing at his favorite spot, tinkering under the hood of a car, or making sure the grass was always neatly cut, Leo found joy in the simple things. Leo was a good man-honest, hardworking, and always ready to lend a hand or share a story. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Lorane Howard, Jackie Sears, Keith Sears, and Johnny Sears.

Survivors include his significant other, Margaret Cornelius; children: Angela Choate and husband Kasey, Janie Lynn Scamp and husband Larry, Vincent Landeros and wife Sandy; 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include brother, Lonnie Sears and wife Pearlene; and sisters: Melba Erwin, Beverly Doggett and husband Danny, Linda Cryer and husband Kevin, and Peggy Reeder and husband Ron.

There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
