Bennie Wilson Obituary

Benjamin Hiram Wilson, Jr., affectionately known as "Bennie", was born April 27, 1945 to Paralee (Reynolds) and Benjamin Hiram Wilson, Sr. in Duncan, Oklahoma. He passed away at his Duncan home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, with his family at his side. He was 76.

Services will be Monday, November 8, at 11:00 A.M. at Whitt Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating. Live streaming of the service will be available at www.whittfh.com. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Bennie graduated from Duncan High School with the Class of 1963 followed by studies at Cameron University in Lawton. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He worked in the oilfield, but his best job was in automobile sales where he owned his own business. On November 22, 1970, he married the love of his life, Shannon Marie Adams, at Oak Lawn, Illinois. Together, they raised two children - Adam and Brooke.

He loved golf, traveling, and Sooner football. Bennie owned thoroughbred horses and loved to race them. His best horses were AD M. Scram and Windsor Night, who won several races. He loved his children and grandchildren. Bennie was the kindest and most honest man. He enjoyed making people happy. The word "special" describes him best.

Bennie is survived by his loving wife, Shannon; children: Adam and wife Charmarie Wilson of Duncan, Brooke and husband Michael Angelopoulos of Riverside, Illinois; two grandchildren: Blake Wilson and Marigold Angelopoulos; and two sisters, Gloria O'Neal and Carolyn and husband Brent Davis, all of Duncan.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers: Dale Wilson and Gary Wilson.
