Betty Joyce Phillips, of Duncan, was born on October 8, 1933, in Fredrick, Oklahoma to Robert Clyde and Lora (Wofford) Kelly. She met her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2020, at the age of 86.
A family graveside service has been scheduled, with Dick Greenwood and Steve Morcom officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Shawn Phillips, Heath Phillips, Weston Phillips and Joseph Neift. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Betty graduated from Wilson High School in Tillman County. She married the love of her life, Damon Dan Phillips, July 11, 1952. They raised three boys – Douglas, Danny, and Duane. She loved being a seamstress and made it her profession as she owned and operated Betty Phillips Upholstery.
Growing flowers and watching birds were favorite pastimes. She was family oriented, taking care of her boys. She dearly loved her family. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church and worked at the church.
Betty is survived by her husband, Damon; son, Douglas and wife Debra Lynn Phillips; grandchildren: Christal and husband Joseph Neift, Brandon and wife Emily Phillips, Joshua and wife Brandi Phillips, Shaun and wife Stephanie Phillips, Heath and wife Megan Phillips and Weston and wife Caitlin Phillips; 15 great grandchildren; sisters: Patsy Hiser and Dorris Moore; and daughter-in-law, Ellen Phillips.
Along with her parents, she was preceded by sons: Danny Ray Phillips and Duane Keith Phillips; sister, Nancy Kelly; and brothers: Don Kelly, Jimmy Kelly and Kenneth Kelly.
