Betty Marie Presgrove

Betty Presgrove of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born December 6, 1933 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Thomas Staples and Nellie Mae (Gray) Barnes. She completed her earthly journey on Friday, May 19, 2023, with her family at her side. She was 89. After graduating from high school, Betty attended Draughn's School of Business. She married Johnnie "John" Wayne Presgrove. Their family was completed with the births of their 3 children. She is preceded in death by her parents; her 3 brothers: Allen, Henry, and Thomas Barnes; and her husband, John Presgrove. Betty is survived by her children: Blanche and husband Anthony Harmon of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Darrell and wife Lisa Presgrove of Duncan, and Sherry Presgrove and husband Rick Lanpher of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren: Scott Presgrove, Ann Harmon and Dawn Kuder; and great grandson Jadon Steward.

Betty was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, Mother (birthed 3 children but Mother to many), mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a wonderful wife and Mother. She lived her life with great love and compassion for all. Her joy shined through when she listened to music, danced with her husband ... many times even in her kitchen, witnessed the blooms of her flower and vegetable garden, or tried a new winning recipe. Everyone who knew her loved her! Her faith in God and His wisdom guided her beautiful life. She shared her faith lovingly without criticism. She was a woman that always showed up with a smile and most of the time with her famous chocolate cake. She never came empty handed to the party. Her love and smile were contagious. She was a woman of great faith and lived an exemplary life. A life to be modeled. She was a woman of grace, wisdom and character and could be somewhat of a character too. Her kitchen was always open and so was her heart.

Visitation starts at 11:30am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Whitt Funeral Home, 4748 US 81 Highway in Duncan, followed by a graveside service at 1:30pm at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery, 1910 Cypress Ave. in Duncan, with Dr. Dickie Hill, her nephew, officiating, under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. IN CASE OF RAIN, THE SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT WHITT FUNERAL HOME.

Serving as pallbearers are Tommy McNair, Jerry Frank, Bob Bruner, Bill Hale, Ronnie Cox, and Darrell Presgrove; honorary pallbearers are Gary Woolwine and Tom Flanagan.
