Billie June (Dotson) Davis of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 12, 2023, at the age of 90.
June was born August 14, 1933, at home in Duncan, Oklahoma to Johnie and Lorena (Stalcup) Dotson. She married Bobby Wayne Davis on June 23, 1951 in Duncan. He predeceased her in 1994 after 43 years of marriage.
Currently a member of New Hope Baptist Church, her home-going graveside celebration will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 16 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
During her lifetime, June was employed at several different places, mainly at Halliburton for 22 cumulative years, the Stephens County Commissioner's office for 10 years, and Country Club Care Nursing Home as a part-time employee for 15 cumulative years. However, the highlights of her life were her family with their activities and her church involvement. She especially enjoyed being organist, spanning 47 years in the churches she attended, and taught Sunday School for many of those years. In addition to family, work and church, she still found time to oil paint and crochet. She delighted in hosting family get-togethers on holidays and special occasions (or just because). She took great pride in the autobiography she wrote - in her words, "for posterity's sake" - which documented her lifelong memories.
June was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and a granddaughter. She is survived by her daughters: Beth Moore and husband Keith of Texas and Angie Davis of Duncan; 3 grandchildren: Mark Moore and wife Carol of Illinois, Andra Moore and husband Jeremy of Texas, Jennifer Stroud and husband Michael of Duncan; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters; a niece and 2 nephews.
