Billie LaRue Johnson, longtime resident of Comanche, passed May 5, 2023 in Duncan. She was born October 3, 1925 in Andrews, TX, the oldest of 10 children. Her parents were William Alexander "Bill" Harris and Vera McKinney Harris. She married Roy Johnson on February 9, 1946 in Brownfield, TX. He predeceased her on December 30, 1979.
She is survived by her sons: Glenn N. and wife Kathy of Comanche, Lynn "Dale" and wife Angelia of Empire; grandson, Brent and wife Amber of Yukon; granddaughters: Payten Woolf and husband Jeremy of Little Elm ,TX , Allison Milligan and husband Noah of Norman, Kelsey Young and husband Jimmy of Fort Belvoir, VA; seven great grandsons; four great granddaughters; one step grandson, Jeff McKelroy of New Orleans; one step granddaughter, Michelle Scott and husband Donnie of Duncan; three step great grandsons; two step great granddaughters; and one step great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by three sisters: Doris Chambers of Lampasas, TX, Geneva Kutin and husband Alex of Fishers, IN, Nona Goolsby and husband Rick of Weimar, TX; sister-in-law, Geralene Harris of Mabank, TX; numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family member, Amy Johnson.
She is predeceased by her parents; sisters: Bernice Vandever of Bakersfield, CA, Viola Page, Martha Page, Rosie Lee Teakell, all of Andrews, TX, and Margaret Stouard of Wichita Falls, TX; and her only brother, John Wayne "Jay" Harris of Mabank, TX.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 24, at 10:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center of Duncan.
