Billy Eugene Davis was born April 10, 1932 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Debs Davis and Mae Davis. He passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the age of 91.
The family will greet visitors on Monday, October 16, between 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, October 17, at 2:00 P.M. at Ray of Hope Church with Pastor Mike McCord officiating, assisted by Pastor Lance Smith. Serving as pallbearers are Rhone Prather, Curt Morris, Kenny Parks, Kelsey Avants, Duke Trimble, and Rick Byford. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Thackerson, Bill Robinson, Chuck Dunlap, and Terry Johnson. Interment will follow in Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Billy attended Duncan Public Schools and received his GED after joining the Army. Music was his life, especially Bluegrass. He was an accomplished musician who played the banjo. He married Joyce Smith on April 6, 1996 in Waurika. He loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny Davis; brother, Jimmy Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jerri and LeRoy Burch, Dorothy and Clarence Reed, Clarine and Doc Newman, Charlene and her husband, Pink McCord.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, and his children: Cody Davis, Billy Davis, Lisa Davis, Jeffery and wife Renee Rather, Dana and husband Tim Bronson. He is also survived by his granddaughters: Jennifer Dorr, JoDee and Cody Stapp, Kara and Kody James, JaCee and Clint Miller, Jennifer Springer and husband Kyle; grandsons: Jonathan Scott, Cody Rather, Rodney Bronson, Chris Bronson Joseph Davis, Devlin Davis; great granddaughters: CamBree Stapp, Oaklee Stapp, Kindree Stapp, Laken James, Maelynn Dorr, Delta Springer, Brexlee Miller; great grandsons: Austin Scott, Caleb Rather, Kannon James, Wesson Springer, Bridger Miller; and great-great granddaughter, Isabella Scott. His surviving siblings include Wiley and wife Della Davis and Carri Davis.
