Bobby Neal Garrett

Bobby Neal Garrett, of Clinton, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 96. He was born February 26, 1930 in Minco, Oklahoma to Luther Henry and Vera (Basham) Garrett.

Graveside services will be held under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Following his high school graduation, Bobby was called to the Korean Conflict to serve in the Army. He told his future wife, JoAnn Kelly, that if she was still there when he got back, he was going to marry her. When he returned a year later, she was still waiting for him. They were married in Anadarko in 1950 in a wooden courthouse with squeaky floors by Judge Dewey Hodges. Two sons blessed the union - Terry in 1953 and Ray in 1956.

Bobby's favorite pastime was hunting elk in Alaska. He loved to fish. He enjoyed farming, and raising cattle and horses. He attended the First Baptist Church. A loyal family man, Bobby dearly loved his wife, sons, and all of the extended family. He would have done anything to help his family or a friend in need. He was a strong man who would never tell anyone if he was hurting or grieving.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife JoAnn; son Terry; sisters: Wanda Garrett, Paula Garrett; and brothers: Jimmy Ray Garrett, Donnie Garrett. Bobby is survived by his son, Ray Garrett; grandchildren: Shelby (James) Coffey, Jason (Kathryn) Garrett, Bobby Doogan Garrett; and great grandchildren: Aubree Garrett, Braxton Liberton, Rickey Garrett, Addison Garrett. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Coy and LaHoma Garrett.
