Bobby White Obituary
Bobby Lynn White was born on December 6, 1929 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Henry Cecil and Vera May (Tarrant) White. He passed away at his home in Duncan on February 18, 2021at the age of 91.
Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, at 10:00 A.M. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Minister David Smith officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Bobby graduated from Marlow High School in 1948. In February 1951 he joined the US Army where he earned the Korean Service Medal and UN Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star. He was honorably discharged in 1953.
He married Wanda Faye Boyd on August 19, 1951. To this union two daughters – Sandra and Debra – were born. He loved his family dearly.
Bobby worked for Halliburton for 39 years as an NC Programmer. After his Halliburton retirement, he worked with the Compassion Center for 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. He also loved to work at keeping his lawn beautiful.
Bob was a Christian for the vast majority of his life, devout and active in faith until his last breath. He was a long-time member of the Westside Church of Christ in Duncan, and as it is now known, the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ. He served many years as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Pannell; and granddaughter, Traci Brierton.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Wanda; daughters: Sandra Minnick of Lawton and Debra and husband David Smith of Baytown, Texas; grandchildren: Jason Minnick, Jonathan Smith, and Amber Wheeler; great grandchildren: Nicholas Smith, Timothy Smith, Madi Smith, Justin Minnick, Ethan Wheeler and Kinley Wheeler; brother, Wayne White of Marlow; and sisters: Joyce Barrington of Marlow, Zelma Prince of Argyle, Texas, Rose June Ammons of Mississippi, and Meda Cates of Arizona.
