Bonnie Louise Hocutt, of Duncan, was born November 9, 1943 in Santa Ana, California to Stephen and Lucille Vernoy. She passed away on February 21, 2021 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 77.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 26, 6:00-7:00p.m. at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 27, at 10:00a.m. at Harvest Hills Baptist Church in Duncan. Interment will follow at 2:00p.m. in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home of Duncan.
Bonnie attended school in California. She married Bill Howard Hocutt on January 16, 1960 in St. George, Utah. To this union six children - Lyle, Billy, Bonnie, Stephen, Jerry and Vicky - were born. Bill preceded her in death in June 1997.
She was employed for 20 years as the head cook at Anadarko Public Schools, retiring in 2005. She then worked as a waitress and took odd jobs to support her family. Known as Nanny to her grandkids, she loved her family dearly. She enjoyed reading books, especially romance novels, and playing bingo. She looked forward to attending family reunions. She loved watching John Wayne movies and Walker, Texas Ranger on television.
Bonnie is survived by her children: Lyle Hocutt, Billy Hocutt, Bonnie and husband Randy Miller, Stephen and wife Cari Hocutt, Jerry and wife Connie Hocutt, and Vicky and husband Martin Graham; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Stephen and wife Ngan Vernoy and Gene and wife Vera Vernoy; and sisters: Kay and husband Steve Buck, Sharon and husband Jack Gano, Annie and husband Bob Pool, and Pam and husband Bill Blum.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Hocutt; 2 sisters; and 5 brothers.
