Bonnie Lee Minter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lee Minter, of Duncan, on April 30, 2025, at the age of 94. Born in Peoria, Illinois, Bonnie was one of three children. She married Kirby Minter in Peoria, eventually moving to Duncan, Oklahoma where they grew their family. Bonnie was a supportive wife, mother, and MaMa who was known for her kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. She enjoyed finding a good deal at garage sales and antique stores, bowling, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her children: Kim (Dana) Chambless of Duncan, Reggie (Melody) Minter of Yukon, Jim (Sherry) Minter of Comanche, Kathy Coleman of Holdenville, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Minter; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way, along with many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Corinda Whitfield; brother, Bud Whitfield; sister, Deloris Miller; husband, Kirby Minter; son, Rick Minter; grandson, Nick Minter Sr.; and son-in-law, Gary Coleman.

A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at Whitt Funeral Home. Visitation is on Tuesday, May 6, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and the funeral is on Wednesday, May 7, at 1:00 pm. Those who knew and loved Bonnie are invited to attend and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in Bonnie's memory.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Elk Crossing Nursing Home and Rehab, Chisholm Trail Assisted Living, and Refuge Care Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during her final years.

Bonnie's strength, humor, and boundless love were a gift to all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the stories, smiles, and hearts she left behind.
