Carlyle Galloway, Jr., 92, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2020. Mr. Galloway was born on March 25, 1928, to Carlyle and Virginia Galloway of Elsberry, MO. He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Lynda Gentry Galloway, Duncan, OK, children, Floyd H. Galloway, Centralia, MO, Judith L. (Phillip) Westen, Santa Fe, NM, John M. (Joy) Galloway, Duncan, OK, Joseph M. (Bonnie) Galloway, Winfield, MO, Jayne L. (Dan) Howard, Washington, NJ, daughter-in-law, Carol Van Esler, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, son Eugene C. Galloway, and daughter Joan M. Galloway.
Carlyle, known to some as “Junior”, owned and operated Galloway Equipment Company, a farm machinery dealership, in Old Monroe, MO for over 50 years. He also owned and worked his own farm.
Carlyle was a member and past-Master of New Salem Masonic Lodge #270, AF&AM, which is now Lincoln County Masonic Lodge #682, AF&AM, Winfield. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of St. Louis; a member of the Order of The Eastern Star #405, Troy, MO; and a member of The Order of the Amaranth, Tucson, AZ.
Carlyle had a great appreciation for Studebaker cars and trucks, and proudly drove his 1963 Wagonaire with the sliding roof. He and Lynda were members of the Gateway Chapter of the Studebaker Collectors Club, enjoying state-wide and cross country trips with other collectors, all in their vintage and antique cars. Usually a man of few words, he loved to share his interest and knowledge of Studebakers.
