Carol Kay Barnes, 81, of Arlington, Texas, received her angel wings and went to be with Jesus September 1, 2021. She was born on April 6, 1940 to Charles Vernon and Eula Mae Nelson in Stafford, Kansas.
Carol graduated from Duncan High School with the class of 1958 and went on to attend Oklahoma State University in Stillwater before marrying her childhood sweetheart, Sharron “Chuck” Barnes, on February 4, 1961. With Chuck, they had two girls - Jami Rae and Kari Lynn.
She loved music, dancing, playing golf, and watching football and other sports. Carol gave so much to those who loved her but her quick wit and her ability to make you laugh was truly her greatest gift. Carol’s heart was larger than life and she was a blessing to all that knew her.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Sharron “Chuck” Barnes; daughter, Kari Lynn Barnes; mother, Eula Mae Nelson; and father, Charles Vernon Nelson.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Jami White and husband Jerry White of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Pat Nelson Wilkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Bernita Nelson McKenna of Arlington, Texas; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
