Cathy Ranell Nelson, 73, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Cathy was born June 7, 1952, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Harold and Jean (Evans) Tipps. She attended Duncan Public Schools and later built a long and dedicated career as a timekeeper at Halliburton, where she worked until her retirement.

Cathy lived her life with a joyful spirit and a heart that never stopped giving. She loved vacationing with her friends, listening to old rock 'n' roll, and driving her big truck with pride. Her home was often filled with laughter during game nights, and she found peace in her plants, the outdoors, and the beauty of nature. Above all, she treasured her family, friends, and her loyal dog, Boss.

Fun loving and big hearted, Cathy had a beautiful smile that could light up any room. She cared with her whole heart and made everyone around her feel valued and loved. To her family, she was the best mom and Mema, a steady source of comfort, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Preceded in death by her parents and son, Christopher Pewitt, Cathy is survived by her daughter, Gina Allie and husband Michael; grandchildren: Whitney Hernandez, Blake Bidigare, Tanner Bidigare; step-grandchildren: Gage Allie, Sadie Allie; great-grandchildren: Harlee Hernandez, Hayden Hernandez, and Olivia Heredia. Other survivors include her brothers: Steve Tipps and wife Debbie, David Tipps; and sister, Judy Keller and husband Joe.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, May 12, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 13, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Morgan officiating.
