Cecil Dearen Obituary

Cecil LaDon Dearen was born October 23, 1934 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Elmer Cecil and Alva Theo (Wilson) Dearen. He completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, with his family at his side. He was 88.

The family will greet visitors on Friday, April 28, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Saturday, April 29, at 10:00 A.M. in Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating, assisted by Brandon Sanner. Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons - Ronnie Pitezel, Jeff Swanson, John James, Brandon Sanner, Jimmy Sanner, and Blakely Sanner; honorary pallbearers are Ray James, Ronnie Green, Rev. Jonathan Smith, and Larry Sanner. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Cecil married Betty Jane Orr on September 24, 2000 in the Bethesda Church of God in Duncan. He was a great carpenter and retired when he married Betty. He liked to play the guitar and make crafts. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church West.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Laura Mae (Brazeal) Dearen. Cecil is survived by his wife, Betty; children: Cheryl and husband Ray James of Sapulpa, Paul and wife Barbara Dearen of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Steve Dearen of Sapulpa, Cindy and husband Larry Sanner of Velma, Debbie and husband Ronnie Green of Sulphur, Rev. Jonathan Smith of Ravia; and grandchildren: Sheila and husband Jeff Swanson, Christy and husband Ronnie Pitezel, John and wife Annette James, Candi Moran, Charissa Sumka, Kaz Tolbert, Jimmy and wife Whitni Sanner, Brandon and wife Kourtany Sanner, Blakely Sanner, Kaylee and husband Zack Morse, Misty and husband Tanner Hinton, Linzy and husband Cody Officer, Jeremiah and wife Teresa Smith, Brittinii and husband Shawn Deen, Kolton and wife Julia Tolbert, Nash Tolbert, Aspyn Tolbert; and 20 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Donald Ray Dearen of Westminster, California and Garry Dearen of Lake Havasu, Arizona.
