Charles DeArmond Obituary

Charles Graves DeArmond was born November 27, 1939 in Spur, Texas to Graves Leverett and Laura Florence (Mahaffey) DeArmond. He passed away on April 13, 2022 with his family at his side at his home in Lawton, Oklahoma.

His inurnment at Fort Sill National Cemetery will be on Wednesday, April 27, at 2:00 PM. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center of Duncan.

Charles graduated from Lawton High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1963 to 1966 when he was honorably discharged. Charles married Jean Hall Green on September 9, 1994 at Robbers State Park.

He was the owner of Ben Leva Auto Parts and worked at the Fort Sill Golf Course for a short time after Ben Leva closed. He drove over-the-road for JB Hunt trucking for over 10 years before retiring. He enjoyed competitive trail riding and rode his horse, Robin, over 4700 miles on trails. He loved to travel and had visited all 50 states in the United States. He enjoyed going on cruises and going to the West Coast. He also enjoyed reading.

Charles is survived by his wife, Jean; children: Korki Zacharis and Carrie Jones; four grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Rita DeArmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dee DeArmond.
