Charlotte "Fern" Calger, 90, of Duncan, Oklahoma, finished her earthly journey on Monday, March 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Fern was born May 3, 1935, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to John and Anna Lou (Golson) Moon. She grew up in Healdton and graduated with the Healdton High School Class of 1954. Later that same year, on November 6, 1954, she married the love of her life, Charles Ray Calger, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Together they built a beautiful life, raising their family and sharing 51 devoted years of marriage until Charles' passing in 2006.

Fern embraced her role as a homemaker with pride and joy. She enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her comfort and connection-working crossword puzzles, watching her favorite television shows (especially M.A.S.H. and Days of Our Lives), fishing, camping, and traveling with Charles during their many adventures together. Above all, Fern cherished time spent with her family. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Fern is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; granddaughter, Amanda Calger; brothers: Lonnie Moon, Joe Moon, Son Moon; and sister, Mary Pearl West.

Survivors include her sons: Leslie Ray Calger and wife Audrey of Ratliff City, OK, Jimmie Jack Calger and wife Becky of VanWert, OH; grandchildren: Roger Dale Calger (Amy Ryker), David Andrew Calger (Cherith), Joseph Ray Calger (Sarah), Caitlin Louise Calger, Jacob Charles Calger, Mitchell Ray Calger, Codie Mychelle Seaton (Chris); great-grandchildren: Micaiah Andrew Calger (Ellie), Benji Calger, Lily Calger, Owen Calger, Charlotte Calger, Capri Seaton; and sister, Marie Oakley.

Viewing will be available from 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. on Thursday and Friday, March 5th and 6th at Whitt Funeral Home. A funeral service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 7, at True Gospel Tabernacle Church. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
