Chester 'Derwin' Dennington, of Apache, Oklahoma, was born on September 18, 1955 in Tacoma, Washington. He passed away at his home on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 69.

A memorial service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 16, at Apache First Baptist Church. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Crews Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Derwin graduated from Parkland High School in El Paso, Texas. He married the love of his life, Delana Doyle, on August 25, 1976 in El Paso. They had 3 children - Brandy, Brandon and Cody. He was employed as an automobile mechanic.

He enjoyed working, both as a mechanic and mowing lawns. He raised and loved chickens. Riding motorcycles and listening to music were favorite pastimes. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Derwin is survived by his wife of 48 years, Delana; children: Brandy Roberts and husband Seth, Brandon Dennington, all of Apache; six grandchildren: Preston and wife Zoey Roberts, Dakota and wife Taylor Roberts, Zackary Roberts and Kennedy, Brailey Roberts, Landon Roberts, Harley Dennington, all of Apache; and great granddaughter, Kayce Roberts. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beverly Simon of Bonham, Texas; special friend and lifetime buddy, Al Freeman; and extended family and friends of Apache.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Leona Flynn; father, Charles Delbert Dennington; son, Cody Dennington; and mother-in-law, Charolette Doyle.
