Clemie Evelyn McGarr

Clemie Evelyn McGarr, 95, of Duncan, was born in Cole, Oklahoma, on May 28, 1921 to John Perry and Viola Priscilla (Key) Bowling. She met her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 20, 2017.

Family visitation will be on Thursday, March 23, from 6 to 7 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 24, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be at Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Clemie attended school in Velma. She married Eben C. McGarr on her 17th birthday, May 28, 1938. They had three daughters, Evelyn Jane, Barbara Ann, and Billie Jo. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, and loved to go camping. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Evelyn Jane and husband Jimmy Polk of Petal, Mississippi and Barbara Ann and husband Robert Davenport of Duncan; three grandchildren, Brenda Denise (Polk) and husband Billy McWilliams, Byron Keith and wife Michelle Polk, and James Blake and wife Michele Polk; five great-grandchildren, Chelle (McWilliams) and husband Matt Langford, James Keith and wife Lauren McWilliams, Lindsey Ruth Polk, Ashton Leigh Polk, and Elijah Nichols Polk; two great-great-grandchildren, Robert Neil and Conner Matthew Langford; and a special friend, Lynn Fawbush.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eben McGarr; her daughter, Billie Jo McGarr; her parents, John Perry and Viola Priscilla (Key) Bowling; her two brothers, Roy and George Bowling; her five sisters, Forthie Hobbs, Johnnie Bridges, Jo Herriage, Clara Tucker, and Mary Ayers; and her grandson, Ty Lynn Fawbush.
