Cody James Nichol

Cody James Nichol, 25, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Military honors will be provided by the Fort Sill Honor Guard and the Stephens County Honor Guard. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Cody was born on January 28, 2001, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Christopher James Nichol and Tona Marie Tweedle. After graduating from high school, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army, where he served proudly. Following his military service, he worked in construction, a field that suited his strong work ethic and willingness to tackle any challenge.

Outside of work, Cody enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, shooting guns, riding motorcycles and off-roading, and trying his luck at gambling. He was also an avid fan of anime and appreciated the friendships and community that came with his interests. Cody had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved dogs.

More than anything, Cody treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. He especially loved being an uncle to his nephew, Isaiah, and made many cherished memories with him. Whether spending time with family or simply hanging out with friends, Cody's presence brought laughter and lasting memories to those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Christopher Nichol and Tona Tweedle; his brother, Kyle Nichol; his beloved nephew, Isaiah Cage Nichol; along with many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Connie Jo Nichol; his grandfather, Robert Wayne Benedict; his grandparents, Jerry Michael Blady and Joretta Jo Blady; and his stepfather, Steven Conrad Barton.

Though his life was far too short, Cody's service to his country, his love for his family and friends, and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
