Danny graduated from Velma Alma High School in 1970 and went on to attend the University of Central Oklahoma. As a young man, Danny enjoyed fast cars, boating, skiing, hunting quail, fishing, playing sports, and operating all types of equipment. On November 15, 1974, he married the love of his life, Patsy Ruth Martin. Together they raised their two sons, Buck and Colby. To provide for his family, Danny worked for 40 years in oilfield construction including long tenures at Sonny's Tank Trucks, Sooner Trucking, and Crescent Consulting.

Later in life, he enjoyed watching his sons compete in all sports, going to the lake, spending time with his granddaughter, and visiting with old friends and family. Danny was a dedicated family man who was always there when you needed him and was always authentic, dependable, and trustworthy. He spoke and acted truthfully in ways that aligned with his deepest values. Danny was a jack of all trades and well-loved amongst his peers for his hilarious humor and antics. He invariably had a story to tell and could regularly be found creating or fixing something in his workshop. Danny was a member of Countyline Baptist Church in Countyline, Oklahoma for many years and later joined New Hope Baptist Church West in Duncan, Oklahoma. His love and support for his family will last long beyond his days on earth.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Bonnie; sister, Debbie Gear; in-laws, Lennie & Delbert Martin; and nieces, Dionne Gipson Watson and Courtney Allen.

Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Patsy; sons: Buck Scifres and Colby Scifres both of Edmond, OK; granddaughter, Stella Rose Scifres of Collinsville, OK; sister, Kim (Scifres) Downey; sister-in-law, Linda Hawkins and husband Ronny; and nephews: Keaton Beaird and Billy Jack Allen.
