Darlene Sechrist Nasalroad, 77, of Edmond, Oklahoma, graduated to her new home with Jesus on Saturday, November 8, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 14, at the First Baptist Church, Apache, Oklahoma with nephew, Jeramy Sechrist officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Crews Funeral Home in Apache.
Darlene was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Ruth and J.D. Sechrist and grew up on a farm northwest of Apache, where she attended school. After graduating from high school, she attended college at Central State University in Edmond, OK. She worked for Central State University and later, First National Bank, part time while attending college. In 1969, she met Darrell Nasalroad, and they were married at the CSU Chapel that same year. She earned her Master's Degree in Education in 1976 while teaching at Northern Hills Elementary in Edmond and retired after teaching third grade for twenty-seven years.
In 1981, Darrell and Darlene, along with their friends, Margie and Howard Tinsley started a real estate management company, which was in business until 2001, when they all retired. Darlene has always valued her friends. She treasured her time spent with her high school friends, her college friends, her teacher friends, and her church friends. Darlene was happiest if there were children around her. After she retired, she was a CASA volunteer for a short time. She was a member of Church on the Rock in Oklahoma City. Darrell and Darlene traveled a lot after retirement, often to other countries. But now she has finally gotten to go on her most anticipated trip of all!
