Daryle Wayne Schmitt was born on July 13, 1949, in Sidney, Nebraska to Glen Elton and Cleta Ruth (Hobbs) Schmitt. He completed his earthly journey at his home in Loco, Oklahoma on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the age of 75.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Daryle served the city of Duncan and surrounding areas as a Lieutenant with the Duncan Police Department for over 20 years as well as a self-defense instructor for the CLEET Academy. Daryle also owned Clearwater Plumbing for around 10 years. He was a jack of all trades and used his skills in carpentry and plumbing to build houses. When he wasn't working, Daryle enjoyed exercise and being outdoors. His hobbies included riding motorcycles, fishing, archery, and hunting with a traditional long bow. Daryle enjoyed learning and taught himself Spanish which he used on a year-long mission trip to Mexico. He had a huge heart for people and loved to joke around and make others laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: David Schmitt and Jimmy Ray Schmitt. Survivors include his children: Tammy Casady of Loco, OK, Rebecca Wilson of Ohio, Barry Schmitt of Atoka, OK; grandchildren: Angelina Wylie, Aasin Gibson, Valerie Rock, Blake Rock, David Schmitt; and great-grandchildren: Paityn, Sadie, Emersin, Berkley, and Lily.
