David Michael Barrick passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at his home in Duncan, at the age of 63.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 17, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, at 1:30 PM in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Boles officiating. A live stream of his service will be available by visiting his obituary at www.whittfh.com. Pallbearers will be Boyd Montgomery, Paul McCormick, Tim Helton, Mark Rhodes, Lynn Barrick, and Nicholas Barrick. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joe Mark Luttrell, Don Luttrell, and Steve Wilson. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan. All arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
David was born on September 26, 1957, in Duncan to J.P. and Sylvia Lucretia (Montgomery) Barrick. He lived in the Stephens County area all of his life and graduated from Empire High School with the Class of 1975. He attended Cameron University before going to work for Halliburton as a chemist in the Research Department for more than 39 years. David also worked for FloTech in Houston and CESI in Marlow. He served on the Empire School Board and the Empire Volunteer Fire Department for many years. David enjoyed watching OSU football and NASCAR. He liked working with his guns especially cleaning them. David loved working on the farm and took great pride in helping his children follow their dreams in agriculture as well. He was a great cook and could cook a mean breakfast. Above all, he loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Denise Barrick; two children: Nicholas Aaron Barrick of Fort Riley, KS and Taylor Denise Barrick of Norman; two brothers-in-law: Joe Mark Luttrell of Duncan; Don Luttrell and wife Gwendolyn of Duncan; two nieces: Jennifer and Jesse; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Ross and Irene Luttrell.
