Deborah Parks Obituary

Deborah Anne (Gay) Parks was born June 7, 1952, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Roland and Jo Anne (Walker) Gay. On Friday, September 4, 2020, she was reunited with her mother in heaven.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 9, from 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 10, at 10:00 A.M. at New Hope Baptist Church West with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Serving as “pallabears” will be Wendy Cooksey, DeLynn Herje, Janeen Hall, Jan Butler, Tami Mills, Carolyn Campbell, Debbie Dixon, and Marsha Gayle Gibson. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. in the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7801 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Debbie was a 1970 graduate of Duncan High School and attended a year at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. She was an executive secretary for Arvest Bank retiring in 2015 after many years of service, as well as secretary for the Duncan Public Schools Foundation. She also had a booth at the Antique Marketplace for many years.

Debbie was very involved in the Duncan community. She was a member of PEO Chapter BK and Kappa Sigma sorority. She loved playing Bunco and spending time with her friends. If you knew Debbie, you know she loved to decorate and shop. Debbie always enjoyed visiting her girls and their families. She was a loving mother and Nah Nah.

Debbie is survived by her father and stepmother, Roland and Jerri Gay; daughters: Michaela Anthony and husband Rowdy of Edmond, Lindsey Lindsay and husband Justin of Mustang; grandchildren: Hudson Lindsay, Beckett Lindsay, Paige Anthony, Abby and husband Matt Sanabria, Jordan and wife Alexandra Anthony and daughter Madeline; brothers: Larry and wife Suzie Gay, Robert and wife Janet Gay, all of Duncan; and her aunt, nephews, nieces, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jo Anne Gay, and the father of her children, Michael Parks.

The family would like to thank the Stephenson Cancer Center, OU Medical Center, and Duncan Regional Hospital for the excellent care given to Debbie. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Clinton Sanchez for his continued dedication and compassion throughout Debbie’s journey.
